We are Big Queer Fringe Scarborough! A community group on a mission to create more fabulous and inclusive events in Scarborough UK for the LGBTQ+ community and friends/allies to enjoy.

About us
In 2025 a group of likeminded souls decided there weren't enough events for the LGBTQIA+ community in Scarborough, and so, armed with a pointy hand, a banner and a 'stickOrama' board, off they went to Scarborough Pride to ask the local community what they would like to see happen in the town.
Some wanted club nights and some wanted crafts - some wanted safe spaces, some wanted to make new friends, some were excited, some were sceptical! From all those responses, Big Queer Fringe was born, and if you stopped and gave your opinion, or added a sticker, you helped make this a reality!
Now we're a community hub for a much wider group of people, pooling their resources and talents to give our community places to go, and reasons to go there.
Last year we kicked things off with a small but perfectly formed collection of events including a cabaret night, a book launch, and a winter craft and singing workshop, and now we want to do even more. We hold regular meetings where we chat, plan, drink a lot of tea and eat a lot of cake, and most importantly, inspire and encourage each other to do whatever they would like to, to make a vibrant, thriving queer community in Scarborough a reality.
We champion local artists, performers, writers, spaces and businesses, and aim to make our events safe, inclusive and affordable.
